Last week, we mentioned our beating the venerable New York Times to the punch with Marc Norton’s January 7 story about a mass suicide attempt at Guantanamo. Yesterday, the Times once again came in second place, following our lead with a story about disabled rights activists protesting the movie ‘Million Dollar Baby’.

Randy Shaw’s story “Oscars Reflect America’s Rightward Shift,” published early last week, revealed the anti-disability agenda behind Clint Eastwood’s popular film. Beyond Chron received comments from across the country. Now, the story has bubbled up to the national media, with the Seattle Times addressing the issue last Sunday and the Times doing the same yesterday.

Once again, you heard it hear first at Beyond Chron.
