Kudos to Carl Finamore for a great summary of local unions’ efforts in obtaining quality and affordable health care for their members. The unions know full well American workers are writing a check every month for their health care and are often foregoing real wages in their pockets to have it.The Affordable Care Act is not good enough!H.R. 676, the Expanded and Improved Medicare for All Act, would cut out excessive profit, unnecessary administrative costs, give Americans real choice in their health care, and dissolve the employment-benefits contract that keeps us an indentured labor forceUnions have the activism and the organizing skills to lead the way for all workers and I’m sure their success would re-invigorate the future of the union movement.
