To the Editor…

by on February 17, 2016

I arrived in the United States as an immigrant child, and regard myself proudly as a Vietnamese American.

My family and I celebrate the “Tết” Vietnamese Lunar New Year (Asian Lunar New Year), and welcome the New Spring Season “mùa xuân.”

Since the end of the war in Vietnam in 1975, the Vietnamese American communities throughout the United States have emerged as a vibrant and increasingly prominent group in our nation.

In San Francisco, “Little Saigon” in the Tenderloin offers economic vibrancy to the neighborhood.

This year’s “Tết” Season reminds us of both the power and vitality of the Vietnamese American communities in our midst and our pride in our heritage as Vietnamese Americans in American society.

My family and I send our warmest wishes to all.

“Chúc mừng năm mới!” (“Happy New Year!”)
