Regarding the story “Michael Pollan: Oppressor of women or hopeless romantic?” thank you for writing, Dana. On the one hand, nobody is perfect. On the other hand, people need to be accountable for their mistakes. In his zeal for people eating good food, Michael Pollan has not thought in depth about the subjugation of women. My mother did a very credible job of scratch cooking when I was a child and I learned a lot from that about healthy eating. But she also gave up working outside the home from the time that she got married until my sister and I were almost done high school which was almost 20 years. My father did almost no cooking and no housework during that entire period. I know that she always regretted that.
