Thank you, Rick Sterling, for your well-researched and, in my judgment, fair article on the exaggerations and inaccuracies in the FCMAT report. Other questions for FCMAT. Did the long list of shortcomings of CCSF undermine in any significant way the quality of instruction? How many of those failings were the result of managerial incompetence and how many were the result of the fiscal crisis that prevented the filling of existing vacancies in human resources and fiscal management? Should the loss of around $50 million in funding over a three-year period mitigate the criticism by FCMAT? If CCSF is “facing financial insolvency” how does FCMAT reconcile CCSF’s balanced budget this year and the balanced tentative budget for 2013-14 and projections of fiscal stability for the next eight years with substantial increases in reserves?
