Rent control is unconstitutional and a failure. It reduceds Landlords incentive to upgrade apartments and promotes greater Tenant/Landlord disharmony. Created to help ensure lower income people with affordable housing, you\’re know talking about it failing to keep a middle class. No measure is going to reduce the demand for housing in San Francisco. Ending rent control will at least improve the quality of life for those whom can afford it.Stronger employment, higher wages and fair bank lending practices are the means to affordable housing. Your article was absent of any means or ways to create affordable housing in San Francisco, because only; an earthquake, the collapse of the tech-industry and better living standards elsewhere could reduce the demand to live in San Francisco.
