RE. “Republicans Put Ukrainians Ahead of Americans” By Randy Shaw‚ BeyondChron, March 5‚ 2014:

It is ironic that Secretary of State John Kerry announced that the U.S. government would provide a $1 billion aid package to Ukraine as a response to Russia’s intervention in Ukranian’s affairs, while George W. Bush ordered the invasion against Iraq, a sovereign nation.

The invasion and military onslaught against Iraq decimated its capital and infrastructure, killed untold numbers of Iraqi children, women, and men, and the war against Iraq left a sovereign nation and its people to suffer still today.

Kerry, who was Chair of the Senate’s Foreign Relations Committee, like most of his colleagues in the Senate and Congress, voted for the U.S. to invade Iraq. This is the same individual who was a Navy machine gunner in the Mekong Delta during the Viet Nam War, and then who later protested against the war.

What are the core values, if any, of contemporary U.S. foreign policy?

As Americans, individually and collectively, what is our own regard for the value of the sanctity of human life in how our nation crafts and conducts its foreign policy?

What responsibility do we bear?
