Tiger Woods; Disillusioned with Obama on Health Care …

To the Editor:

I am not a golfer. I have never watched a golf tournament live or on television. Yet, Tiger Woods became a worldwide phenomenon that transcended any individual lack of interest in golf. I really don’t care about the state of his marriage, his past infidelities, or when he will play golf again. I did not watch Tiger Woods’ mea culpa on television, but according to the media reports, Woods said, “I felt entitled” to explain his infidelities.

Too many professional athletes think it is justified to break rules not only because they can get away with it, but also because they feel at some intuitive level that they are entitled to take what they want. This sense of entitlement is crucial to understanding why some professional athletes misbehave. “Privilege” becomes “private law.” Some of these privileged people genuinely believe that different rules apply to them.

To the Editor:

I am desperately trying to find a phone number or address for Organizing For America. I want to recant my pledge to donate time if the President is not supporting the public option. What else can we do to achieve our goals? Why aren’t they listening? I’ve called Senators. I’ve signed Petitions. I’ve posted on my Facebook page. Just when it seems the Senate is ready to move forward with reconciliation, Obama panders to the Republicans with a bill that doesn’t include the public option!? I swear, I will not vote Democrat if this doesn’t get passed.

To the Editor:

I am absolutely with you 100%. If the Senate and Harry Reid go for the public option via reconciliation, with 50 votes plus Joe Biden, the bill will pass. Obama will sign it. The bill will make health care affordable, portable, and include coverage for those with pre-existing conditions.

To the Editor:

The author of this article must have been in outer space for the past thirteen months, because he has no grasp of the situation. The President and the Democrat congress have governed without input from the minority party and without regard for citizen input. The President’s agenda is that of a Marxist.
