The Fulton Street Fair and Block Party

Saturday morning saw beautiful skies and a fun filled day for the First Annual Fulton Street Fair and Block Party. Wonderfully kicked off by exhuberant District 5 Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi and the Third Baptist Church’s Amos Brown, the event was deemed a success by all who attended. Sponsored by Third Baptist Church, Kaiser Permanente and led by the tireless efforts of the Alamo Square Neighborhood Association’s President Emmett Gillman and board member Celia DuBose, the block party featured activities for children, great BBQ and singing by Rev. Emmett Powell’s Gospel Elite, rocked by the group The Girlfriend Experience, and culminated with an appearance by San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom. A few photos of the event can be seen via Beyond Chron’s Photo Blog on the right. Photos by Suzie Racho.
