It isn’t too often that you see victories like this one … The Jasper Tenants Story should inspire a whole new generation of activism … Could someone do a documentary?

The Tenderloin Housing Clinic’s anti‑Ellis Act legal services is critical to ensuring that working class residents can remain in this city. The budget cut they received is ridiculous in light of how much impact they have had and continue to have. Thanks Steve Collier, and the other stalwart advocates at THC!!!!!

I absolutely support the desire expressed by the opposition to a new North Beach Library to scuttle the plans at the triangle, and instead renovate the existing building. Yes, it will be smaller and will have far fewer amenities, capacity, etc. than other branches in the system and will only be a glimmer of what could have been. Upon completion there will be much hue and cry about the lost opportunity.
Frankly, there is a perfectly good and nearby library in Chinatown that can serve the North Beach community and make up the difference. Besides, North Beach is blessed with so much already, does it really need a 21st century quality library? Come on! How many of these do we really need? You can always get in your car and drive to another neighborhood library and see what you missed ‑ your library card is as good there as anyone else’s!!

Why do librarians get six figure salaries? Herrera and 18 others make over $100,000 … Libraries are great, but the City’s librarians aren’t running into burning buildings, or stopping terrorists.
