To the Editor:
Many of the reasons you cited for the Geary-O’Farrell corridor being an undiscovered gem are valid — but key, I think, is accessibility. The 38 Geary in conjunction with the relatively easy walk-ability of the neighborhood is most responsible for this. I am not lauding Muni however, as I believe it’s unreliable service hurts businesses past Van Ness, where distances make neighborhoods more difficult to walk. Jobs jobs jobs (decent jobs) are needed to making all San Francisco more lively and interesting. The new map is a cheap and effective way to help — but much more than PR should be done, if this little renaissance is not to wither.
