Edwards to Stay in the Race – Despite Family Concerns

by Paul Hogarth on March 23, 2007

John Edwards held a press conference yesterday with his wife, Elizabeth, where they announced that Elizabeth has again been diagnosed with breast cancer. While the cancer is not considered curable, many women can still survive for years. Edwards announced that he will not drop out of the Presidential race, and will continue to campaign.

Beyond Chron sends its deepest condolences to the Edwards family during this difficult time, but we are relieved (and impressed) that it will not end his run for the presidency. John Edwards is bringing a crucial message to the national dialogue – fighting poverty – and we are pleased that he will continue to campaign on this important issue.
