‘Chronicle’s Front-Page TIC Story Ignores Victims’

by on August 30, 2005

I enjoyed your article on the Chronicle’s ignoring the facts on TICs. I kept expecting to see somewhere in small print at the bottom of the column: (Advertisement). Evictions aren’t all the Chronicle ignored; just last Friday Alan Greenspan issued his strongest warning yet about the danger of risky and speculative housing investments; if this was reported it was buried inside the paper, but I never saw it. The Chronicle is being irresponsible in running front-page enticements for the last homebuyers left sitting on the fence, a sure sign that this aged and overpriced market is in it’s last phase. Minimal money down, deferred interest, all on a form of ownership which is legally untested…. what is the Chronicle thinking?
