The San Francisco Registar of Voters has concluded that the time period
for collecting signatures for the referendum on Bayview-Hunters Point
Redevelopment is 90 days rather than the 30 days that is customary for
referendums. A provision in the State Health and Safety Code mandated
the 90-day period. This extension greatly increases the chances for the
measure to qualify for the November ballot.
