Concerts at the Cadillac — Do You Play the Piano?

by Paul Hogarth on July 6, 2007

On Friday, July 20th, the Cadillac Hotel will kick off its first weekly “Concerts at the Cadillac” at 12:00 Noon – where local pianists will perform on the historic 1884 Steinway Concert Grand Piano for neighborhood residents. The piano was donated by Lee Walkup in honor of his late sister Patricia, was completely restored to its original condition, and is worth about $125,000. Click here for the Channel 11 story.

We are looking for talented piano players – professional or not – who would like to perform on a Friday at Noon during the summer. Special bonus if you live in the Tenderloin. Getting to play on this historic piano is a special treat, and we are happy to schedule your performance. This is part of an ongoing campaign to make the Tenderloin a historic district, and to bring music to the community. Pianists should contact Paul Hogarth at the Tenderloin Housing Clinic, at (415) 771-9850, ext. 116.
